2022 marks the 28th Annual Sue DeYoung/Judy Edger Memorial Breast Cancer 5K Walk & Run. The event takes place annually in downtown Charlevoix, Michigan. In 2020, a virtual 5K Walk & Run option was added to allow participation from afar, or wherever you are!
On May 7, 2022, we will be meeting at the East Park Pavilion in downtown Charlevoix for the 5K Walk & Run event. For those wishing to virtually participate, we encourage you to enjoy a 5K Walk & Run in your neighborhood, at a local park, or even on your treadmill, at home! However you choose to participate, we’d love to have you share your pictures on our Facebook page.
SHOW YOUR COLORS! This year we are transitioning to helping those with any cancer, as you will see changes with our shirts, and our theme!! It is Kentucky Derby Day on May 7th, so our theme for this year is “Show Your Colors” on your own Derby Hat!! Every cancer has a different color ribbon. Make your Derby Hat colorful and meaningful for the cancer or cancers you are representing! Have fun and be creative! Let’s see those Derby Hats on May 7th!!
The 27th Annual Sue DeYoung/Judy Edger Memorial Breast Cancer 5K Walk & Run honors two courageous local women: Sue DeYoung, a young mother of 4 children that died from cancer in 1992, and Judy Edger, a driving force behind this event until her death in 1999.
